Sarah Lincoln

Senior Partner

Head of Conveyancing & Military Claims


Sarah is the Senior Partner in the practice and has worked dealing with high value, complex and military personal injury claims since 2008.  Sarah qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 though has been working in the legal industry since 2000. Sarah mainly worked in litigation but also trained for a year in conveyancing during her training contract and since 2017 has been dealing with conveyancing matters along side the litigation.

 

She believes in fostering a happy working environment to ensure that our clients are in turn well looked after. 

 

Outside the office Sarah enjoys time spent with her family and friends.


Paige Sanderson

Legal Assistant in the Conveyancing Department

 

Paige joined the practise in 2019 as a Receptionist, She has since progressed her skills and knowledge within the firm and is currently a Legal Assistant within the conveyancing department.

 

Paige has previously completed a Business Administration Apprenticeship and is currently studying with CILEX to improve her expertise and further her Career in the legal sector.

 

In her spare time Paige enjoys travelling, watching films and socialising with friends and family.


Kerrie Anne Bale

Partner

Head of Private Client Services


Kerrie Anne Bale is the Head of Private Client at the firm. She was admitted to the roll in September 2002 and has joined the firm in September 2019.


Kerrie trained in Private Client with the leading West Midlands Firm Shakespeares (now Shakespeares Martineau).  After she qualified, she practiced for her early years in both Claimant and Defendant Litigation before returning back to Private Client work.

 

Kerrie is able to deal with all aspects of Private Client Work from drafting simple Wills to more complex Wills including life interest trusts.  She is also able to deal with Lasting Power of Attorneys for Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare Matters.  She also deals with Probate work  (contentious and non-contentious) dealing with simple estates to more complex taxable estates.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys skiing and spending time with her family and friends.


Hollie Childs

Legal Assistant in the  Private Client Department


Hollie is a legal assistant within the practice, she studied law at A-Level and found it interesting which encouraged her to enter a career in law.

 

She has been part of LWL since 2018 and is keen to continue learning and gaining knowledge. Hollie is also looking to start a Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship. Currently she works within the conveyancing and private client department.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Edel Whalley

Partner

Head of Litigation Services


Edel joined the firm November 2023 as a Partner and the Head of the Litigation Department, and brings 18 years of post-qualification general litigation experience having qualified as a Solicitor in 2006.


Edel has acted for injured claimants in a wide range of cases involving accidents in the workplace, accidents in public places, road traffic accidents, accidents resulting from defective equipment, accident abroad/on holiday, criminal injury and occupational assault claims. Edel began her career in costs before moving into litigation and has keen awareness of promptly proceeding to litigation to maximise recovery of awards for injured claimants and punishing the defendants with costs penalties for poor conduct and slow resolution of claims. Edel has worked in Australia as a Law Consultant before returning to the UK.

 

Edel has specialised in high value personal injury claims securing many settlements and enabling many catastrophically injured claimants to return to the workplace through assistance with re-training through the claims process. Edel’s main areas of expertise being workplace injuries and motorcycle road traffic accidents however she has throughout her career handled all different areas being proficient in them all.

 

In her spare time Edel enjoys running, hiking up mountains, travelling, baking, reading crime novels in particular and spending time with family, puppy and friends.


 


Maria Newton

Legal Cashier



Maria has been working as a Legal Cashier since 2010 and is very experienced in her field. The role of Legal Cashier is crucial to the smooth running of law firms and Maria ensures the financial records are kept both accurate and compliant with the relevant regulations, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules.


Clients coming to Lincoln Watts & Leeding Solicitors can trust that Maria will ensure their funds are handled securely and safely.


Outside the office Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family.
